dedicated to empowering the next generation through immersive learning experiences along the Kenyan coast
Our Experiences focus on ocean literacy, conservation, and hands-on discovery, with the vision of fostering young leaders across Kenya and the Western Indian Ocean. We align our school trips and programmes with the UNESCO Ocean Decade’s ‘Ocean Literacy Principles’, and relate them to the 6 Kenyan Marine Ecosystems. Ensuring a globally recognised standard is grounded in a local context. This model provides accessible educational journeys that build environmental awareness, foster stewardship, and connect students to the land and sea. As well as working closely with local NGOs on all our trips, our educational events, and fundraisers help to support the Seas4Life Foundation’s ‘Discover Ocean Initiatives’ translating experiential learning into real-world conservation impact, through local communities.

Wonders of Watamu
Students are led by expert guides through a number of ecosystems, including Mida Creek and its mangrove forests to explore the richness and importance of a diverse marine environment. They visit turtle conservation organisations, and have the opportunity to snorkel with these remarkable animals. A trip to Kuruwitu further illustrates the vital role of Marine Protected Areas and the tangible impact they have on ocean recovery.

Tiwi Treasures
Students gain meaningful real-world insight through visits to local initiatives such as the Diani Turtle Watch conservation centre and the Kwale plastics recycling facility. Guided excursions to African pools with the Beach Management Unit deepen their understanding of the region’s natural environment and community stewardship. These experiences, and others, bring learning to life and inspire lasting environmental responsibility.

We are an expert-led tour operator specialising in bespoke educational experiences. Drawing on our deep understanding of the Western Indian Ocean’s unique environment and our strong partnerships with local conservation, research, and monitoring organisations, we create opportunities for learners to engage meaningfully with leading marine specialists. Our School Trips are thoughtfully designed to complement students’ academic studies while helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to turn their passion for marine biology and conservation into a future career.

Based in Kenya and working in East and Southern Africa we have a strong presence and a passion for exploring the continent and the Island States. We are on the ground, we speak the language, and we respectfully follow the local customs. A place we call home. There is never a dull day in Africa!

WE WORK TO SUPPORT YOUR LEARNING
We are an expert-led eco-tour operator that facilitates authentic tailor-made opportunities. Using our knowledge of the WIO’s environment and our connections with local conservation research and monitoring organisations, we help students or learners find meaningful work alongside field researchers to gain experience in marine biology and conservation. Through our Ocean Guardians programme, we enable students to define their own experiences to complement their academic studies. The skills they develop help to turn their passion for marine biology into a career.
