Education & Ocean Literacy
dedicated to empowering the next generation through learning
Our experiences focus on ocean literacy, conservation, and hands-on discovery, with the vision of fostering young leaders across Kenya and the Western Indian Ocean. We are deeply committed to UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14: Life Below Water. Specifically, we focus on Target 14.A, enhancing marine scientific knowledge and ocean literacy.
By aligning our teaching with the the UNESCO Ocean Decade’s ‘Ocean Literacy Principles’, and relate them to the 6 Kenyan Marine Ecosystems. Ensuring a globally recognised standard is grounded in a local context. This model provides accessible educational journeys that build environmental awareness, foster stewardship, and connect students to the land and sea. We work closely with local NGOs on all our trips, our educational events, and fundraisers help to support the Seas4Life Foundation’s ‘Discover Ocean Initiatives’ translating experiential learning into real-world conservation impact, through local communities.

AFRICAN ADVENTURERS
Based in Kenya and working in East and Southern Africa we have a strong presence and a passion for exploring the continent and the Island States. We are on the ground, we speak the language, and we respectfully follow the local customs. A place we call home. There is never a dull day in Africa!
-

CONSERVATIONISTS AT THE CORE
We are driven by purpose. Everything we do is geared towards understanding the ocean’s influence on us, our influence on the ocean, better welfare and marine conservation. Inherent to our experiences you are connected to the Ocean, its species and ecosystems, and the conservation and research or our partners. Create impact through connection.

OCEAN EXPERTS
Our combined experience in travel, scuba diving, conservation, and marine services in the WIO equips us with the tools needed to professionally deliver outstanding ocean experiences, education, services, and ultimately, impact.

CLOSER CONNECTION
We thrive off connection with others. Through linking like-minded individuals with a passion for the ocean, we create a sense of community and purpose. Connecting our partners, suppliers, donors, and clients to create unforgettable moments that are truly meaningful.
“It is hard to express in words how amazing my internship experience with Seas4Life was… I am so grateful I got to have these experiences and learn from them as I go on my journey as a marine conservationist”
WE WORK TO SUPPORT YOUR LEARNING
Using our knowledge of the WIO’s environment and our connections with local conservation research and monitoring organisations, we help students or learners find meaningful work alongside field researchers to gain experience in marine biology and conservation. Through our Ocean Guardians programme, we enable students to define their own experiences to complement their academic studies. The skills they develop help to turn their passion for marine biology into a career. Or those wanting to escape and do something different, join one of our programmes and become an Ocean Guardian today.
