JULIE CHURCH

Ocean Conservation Leader, Expert, and Advocate

Julie Church is a visionary marine conservationist, entrepreneur, and founder of Seas4Life, a pioneering travel company offering exceptional ocean experiences across Africa, the Western Indian Ocean (WIO), and the Red Sea. With over 25 years of experience in marine conservation, Julie has established herself as a global champion for safeguarding the world’s oceans, specialising in education, conservation, and the blue economy.

Born in Kenya into a family with a rich history in safari, wildlife conservation, and farming, Julie's love for the ocean grew through her work in Kenya, Tanzania, Indonesia, and the wider WIO. Her expertise in ocean ecosystems, wildlife, and conservation led her to work on marine projects that span the Red Sea to South Africa, where she offered technical advice, promoted tourism, and developed sustainable initiatives for the blue economy. Through Seas4Life, Julie continues to lead the charge in ocean conservation, partnering with global experts and empowering local communities through transformative, ocean-centred initiatives.

Julie is Kenyan-Irish and divides her time between Nairobi, the South Coast of Kenya, and the shores of Lake Naivasha. She enjoys diving, swimming, and snorkelling, bringing the underwater world to life. When not in the water, she explores lesser-known destinations through cycling and hiking, fully immersing herself in nature. Her teenage son, Otto, is also an avid diver with a passion for golf.
